People filling containers with gases under pressure — including cylinders, aerosols, and non-refillable containers — must be trained and hold an approved filler compliance certificate issued by a compliance certifier. This course meets that requirement.

What You Will Learn

• How to safely add refrigerant gas to a cylinder
• How to safely remove refrigerant gas from a cylinder
• How to reduce and eliminate refrigerant gas loss to the environment
• Safe transport requirements for compressed gas cylinders
• Safe use requirements for compressed gas cylinders
• Legal requirements under the H.S.N.O Act
• Requirements under Worksafe New Zealand

Entry Requirements

This course is designed for practicing refrigeration or air conditioning technicians. To enrol you must:

• Be a practicing refrigeration or air conditioning technician
• Fully understand how to operate a gauge manifold set
• Be fully conversant with the tools used in the installation of air conditioning or refrigeration units

Please note: This course will not teach you how to operate HVAC manifold gauges. Ideally you will already be working in the HVAC or Refrigeration industry. If you have completed the Skillsure Heat Pump Installers Course, Or the Heat Pump Installers course from Training Works you will be more than sufficiently trained to enrol.

Assessment & Certification

Attendance at this course requires you to demonstrate both practical and theoretical understanding of the material covered. This is assessed by a compliance certifier. Candidates who meet the required standard will receive a filler compliance licence valid for 5 years, plus a photo licence card. This course complies with requirements under the H.S.N.O Act and Worksafe New Zealand. Refer here for more details on Worksafe requirements.
